1. Quotes

Quotes are valid for fourteen days unless stated otherwise, and are subject to availability at the time of order. Tote pricing follows resin, scrap steel and freight markets, all of which move weekly; we do not publish a fixed price list because it would be inaccurate within days.

2. Payment

First orders are prepaid by ACH or card. Net 30 terms are available on credit approval thereafter. Buyback payments to you are Net 10 by ACH, or cash on collection for units delivered to our yard. Indiana resale certificates and out-of-state equivalents are accepted.

3. Grade guarantee

Every unit ships with a grade card recording nineteen inspection points. If a delivered unit does not match the grade stated on its card, we will at our option credit the difference or collect and replace the unit, and we pay freight in both directions. There is no form to complete and no restocking charge. Notify us within fourteen days of delivery with a photograph.

4. Leak warranty

Reconditioned and rebottled units are warranted leak-free for thirty days from delivery under normal atmospheric service with compatible cargo. This warranty does not cover damage caused by incompatible cargo, over-pressurisation, freezing, impact, modification, or fitting of components not supplied by us.

5. Fitness for your cargo

We publish extensive compatibility guidance and we will advise on request, but final determination of a container's suitability for your specific cargo, concentration, temperature, fill process and shelf life rests with you. We supply containers; we do not certify your process.

6. Modified containers

Any container we cut, port, or otherwise modify has its UN marking removed permanently, is supplied for non-regulated service only, and carries no leak warranty. This is not negotiable — modification changes the design type.

7. Freight and risk

Where we quote delivered pricing, risk passes on delivery. Where you collect or arrange your own carrier, risk passes when the load leaves our yard. Damage claims on delivered loads require a photograph taken at delivery and a note on the delivery receipt; we settle within five business days.

8. Cancellation and returns

Orders may be cancelled without charge until the truck is loaded. After loading, freight is payable. Unused stock units in original condition may be returned within fourteen days with freight at your cost. Custom fabrication, rebottled builds and upcycled builds are not returnable.

9. Buyback conditions

We purchase used containers only with a written prior-cargo declaration from the generator. Containers that held cargo meeting hazardous waste criteria, containers with residual liquid, and containers that held essential oils, flavour concentrates or citrus terpenes will be refused at the gate. Refused loads are returned or handled by a licensed partner at the seller's cost.

10. Lead times

Lead times are estimates given in good faith based on current stock and the production schedule. We will tell you promptly if a date is at risk. We are not liable for consequential loss arising from a delayed delivery.

11. Limitation of liability

Our total liability in respect of any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including loss of product, loss of production or loss of profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, and the courts of Marion County, Indiana have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Grades and what they guarantee

Grade A, B and C are defined by the published nineteen-point inspection system, and that published definition forms part of these terms. A unit sold at a stated grade conforms to the criteria published on the grade scale page at the date of sale. We may tighten those criteria; we will not loosen them retroactively against an order already placed.

15. Documentation

Each unit ships with a grade card and wash record; each order ships with the prior-cargo declaration received from the generator, passed through verbatim. Leak test results accompany any unit we re-mark. Chain-of-custody letters and diversion certificates are issued free on request. We retain our copies for seven years and will reissue on request within that period.

16. Prior-cargo information

Prior-cargo declarations originate with the generator of the container and are passed to you as received. We verify them against physical inspection and our wash results, and we reject containers whose declarations are absent, vague or inconsistent with what we find. We do not independently audit the generator's records and we do not warrant their completeness beyond that process.

17. UN markings and regulated service

Where a unit is supplied re-marked, the marking is applied by us as a registered reconditioner after the applicable tests under 49 CFR 178.801. Responsibility for periodic retesting, for correct use within the marked packing groups, and for not exceeding the marked maximum permitted gross mass rests with you from delivery.

18. Toll services

Where we wash, test, re-mark or fabricate containers you own, title remains with you throughout. We are not liable for containers that fail inspection on arrival; you will be told promptly and given the option of rebottling, scrap credit or return at your cost. Units left with us more than ninety days after completion may be charged storage.

19. Buyback purchases

Our offer is made against the description you provide and is subject to physical inspection on arrival. Material inconsistency with the declaration entitles us to re-price or refuse the load. Refused material is returned, or handled by a licensed partner, at your cost. Title passes to us on acceptance at our yard.

20. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, carrier failure, industrial action, utility interruption or government action. We will tell you promptly and offer a revised date or a cancellation without charge.

21. Confidentiality

We treat your cargo information, volumes and pricing as confidential and will not disclose them except as required to fulfil the order or by law. We will not use your name as a reference or case study without written permission.

22. Entire agreement and order of precedence

These terms, the quotation and any written scope confirmation form the agreement. Where they conflict, the written scope confirmation prevails, then the quotation, then these terms. Pre-printed terms on a purchase order do not vary this agreement unless we have accepted them in writing.

23. Severability and waiver

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stands. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it on another.

E / GRADING

A grade is a promise, not a mood

How every unit is scored

We publish the whole system because a grade without written criteria is just an opinion with a price tag. Nineteen points, fixed thresholds, one card per unit, seven years on file.
Every unit is scored against all nineteen. A single critical failure condemns the unit regardless of how the other eighteen score.

B / FITTINGS

What threads onto it

Fittings, threads and seat materials

S60x6 is a buttress thread that seals against a flat gasket face, not on the thread flanks. It is not interchangeable with NPT — forcing one into the other is the commonest hidden fault in used containers.

C / COMPATIBILITY

Will HDPE hold it?

Sixteen cargo families, rated

HDPE is brilliant at most things and hopeless at a few. Where the answer is C, we will point you at stainless rather than sell you a container that will craze.
A = suitable, B = suitable with limits, C = not recommended in a composite IBC. Guidance only — verify against your own concentration and temperature.

Permeation

Small non-polar molecules pass slowly through HDPE rather than attacking it. The bottle looks perfect and your cargo quietly leaves. It is a storage-duration problem: diesel for a week is fine, diesel for a year is not.

Crazing

Ketones, aromatics and chlorinated solvents cause fine surface cracking that propagates under stress. It is invisible until you hold the wall against a raking light, and it is a critical grading failure.

Odour fixation

Terpenes and some surfactants dissolve into the polymer itself rather than sitting on the surface. No wash removes them. This is why a food-grade tote has to have been a food tote from new.

F / END OF LIFE

Reuse first, recycle last

What happens when the container is finally finished

Every unit that arrives is assessed down this list, in this order. 99.4% of incoming mass avoided landfill in 2024, and reuse plus repair accounted for over three quarters of it.
Assessed in this order, per unit, every time. The granulator is the fourth choice, not the first. 2024 figures against 2,994,000 lb of inbound mass.

G / PITFALLS

Learned the expensive way

Five mistakes that cost people money

Not hypothetical. Each of these has arrived in our inbox, usually more than once.
  1. Ordering a 330 without measuring the ceiling

A 275 and a 330 share a footprint; the 330 is seven inches taller. Two 330s stacked is 110 inches against 96 for two 275s, and most sprinkler regimes want eighteen inches of clearance below the deflector. That seven inches is frequently the whole margin.

  2. Forcing an NPT fitting into an S60x6 port

Both are roughly two inches, so it bites and feels tight. It is not sealing, it is chewing the buttress thread. The joint weeps two days later, usually in transit, and cross-threading is one of the few faults that condemns an otherwise perfect bottle.

  3. Reusing a flange gasket

A gasket is a one-use part the moment it has taken a compression set. Reusing one is the cause of most 'the new valve still leaks' emails we get. They cost a couple of dollars. Keep a box at the fill point.

  4. Specifying a solid lid on a tote that sees sun

Sealed container, rising temperature, nowhere for the expansion to go. The bottle bulges between the cage bars and does not fully return. A vented lid is the cheapest risk control in this industry.

  5. Ignoring specific gravity

A full 275 of water is 2,435 lb. The same tote of UAN 32 is 3,168 lb, and a 330 is 3,785 lb. Plenty of lift-gates are rated at 2,500 or 3,000 lb, and the rating assumes a centred load.
