What we collect
Only what you give us. Our request form collects your name, email address, phone number, company, address, city, state, postal code, the product type and service you are asking about, the quantity, the grade, your message and the URL of the page the form was submitted from. Nothing else.
We do not run advertising trackers, behavioural analytics, session recording, fingerprinting or third-party cookies on this website. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry and quote your order.
- To arrange freight, pickups and documentation.
- To keep the grading, wash and test records that regulation requires.
- To contact you about an order you have placed.
We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever run a newsletter, it will be opt-in and separate.
Who processes it
Form submissions are transmitted to our lead-capture provider, which stores them so our specialists can respond. Freight details are shared with the carrier moving your load, and only the details that carrier needs. Payment is handled by our bank and card processor; we do not store card numbers on our systems at any point.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We have never done so and we have no plans to.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become orders: 24 months, then deleted.
- Order records: 7 years, as required for grading, wash and test documentation.
- Prior-cargo declarations: 7 years, as a compliance record.
- Accounting records: as required by applicable tax law.
Your choices
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email hello@toteorbit.com with “data request” in the subject line. We respond within thirty days. Where a record is required for regulatory compliance we will tell you which record and why it cannot be deleted yet.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy. Form data is transmitted to our lead provider over TLS using a server-side API key that is never exposed to your browser. Internally, access to order records is limited to staff who need it.
Children
This is a business-to-business industrial supply website. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 and we have no services directed at children.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will update the date at the top and note what changed. We will not quietly broaden what we do with your information.

Security in practice
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict Content Security Policy, HSTS, X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, a DENY frame policy and a restrictive permissions policy. Form data is transmitted to our lead provider over TLS using a server-side API key that is never present in any browser bundle — there is deliberately not a single publicly-exposed environment variable in this website.
Sub-processors
Our lead-capture provider stores form submissions so specialists can respond. Our hosting provider serves the site. Carriers receive only the delivery details they need to make a delivery. Our bank and card processor handle payment; card numbers never touch our systems. We will name any of them in writing on request.
International transfers
We are a US business serving US and Canadian customers. Data is processed in the United States. If you are submitting from outside North America, that is where your enquiry will be stored.
Breach handling
If we become aware of a breach affecting personal information we hold, we will notify affected customers directly by email, describe what was affected and what we have done, and do so promptly rather than after a legal review has optimised the wording.

Permeation
Small non-polar molecules pass slowly through HDPE rather than attacking it. The bottle looks perfect and your cargo quietly leaves. It is a storage-duration problem: diesel for a week is fine, diesel for a year is not.
Crazing
Ketones, aromatics and chlorinated solvents cause fine surface cracking that propagates under stress. It is invisible until you hold the wall against a raking light, and it is a critical grading failure.
Odour fixation
Terpenes and some surfactants dissolve into the polymer itself rather than sitting on the surface. No wash removes them. This is why a food-grade tote has to have been a food tote from new.

G / PITFALLS
Learned the expensive way
Five mistakes that cost people money
Ordering a 330 without measuring the ceiling
A 275 and a 330 share a footprint; the 330 is seven inches taller. Two 330s stacked is 110 inches against 96 for two 275s, and most sprinkler regimes want eighteen inches of clearance below the deflector. That seven inches is frequently the whole margin.
Forcing an NPT fitting into an S60x6 port
Both are roughly two inches, so it bites and feels tight. It is not sealing, it is chewing the buttress thread. The joint weeps two days later, usually in transit, and cross-threading is one of the few faults that condemns an otherwise perfect bottle.
Reusing a flange gasket
A gasket is a one-use part the moment it has taken a compression set. Reusing one is the cause of most 'the new valve still leaks' emails we get. They cost a couple of dollars. Keep a box at the fill point.
Specifying a solid lid on a tote that sees sun
Sealed container, rising temperature, nowhere for the expansion to go. The bottle bulges between the cage bars and does not fully return. A vented lid is the cheapest risk control in this industry.
Ignoring specific gravity
A full 275 of water is 2,435 lb. The same tote of UAN 32 is 3,168 lb, and a 330 is 3,785 lb. Plenty of lift-gates are rated at 2,500 or 3,000 lb, and the rating assumes a centred load.
